Upgrading MojoBlog to 0.16 (the latest)
This incremental upgrade -only- applies to mojoBlog0.15. If you are currently using a version of mojo prior to 0.15 we suggest you upgrade to 0.15 before attempting to upgrade to 0.16
Before anything else ask yourself:
- “Have I added plugins to mojo?”
- “Have I added images/videos to mojo?”
- “Have I tinkered with mojo css or template?”
If you answered yes to any of the above read yes I fiddled else, you can skip down to Instructions.
YES,I FIDDLED..
ftp over to your joomla site and backup/copy the entire directory of both/either. The directories you need are:
- components/com_mojo/wp-content/plugins.
- and components/com_mojo/wp-content/uploads.
If you’ve changed/edited the default mojo themelette or it’s css file you’ll need to save a copy of both and after your 0.16 upgrade, copy over the .css with your version. If you changed/edited the mojo.html.php you’ll need to find your edits and add them to the new 0.16 version by hand.
INSTRUCTIONS..
0.15 UNINSTALL FILE Hack/Fix. You’ll need to use your ftp application, navigate back over to your joomla website and open your administrator/components/com_mojo directory, scroll down till you find the file mojo.xml and then open it with your favorite text editor.
With mojo.xml open, scroll down to around line #394 where it starts the “uninstall” and delete the lines between the queries *(all the DROP TABLE commands).
Save the mojo.xml file, close your ftp app and return to your browser.
- Go to your joomla admin panel
- Select Installers→Components from the top admin menu.
- Find your list of installed components and tick Mojo.
- Select Uninstall from the top right menu icons.
At the prompt “Are you sure you want to uninstall selected items” click yes.
To complete the 0.16UPGRADE migration proceed as if you were adding a normal joomla component, e.g. browse, select, upload, install.
This upgrade will replace the majority of the older 0.15 code but will not affect or change your existing 0.15 posts, categories or configuration files. If you made copies/backups of your 0.15 plugins and uploads folders, after the upgrade is completed you will need to ftp them back into your new 0.16 component directory.
notes:
You will need to add a new public menuItem for mojo and, if using mojoBlog instead of the default front-page, move your new mojo menu item to the first position above front-page.
