Will mojoBlog work with joomla 1.5?

Written by kevin murray Tuesday, 06 November 2007

Short answer: No, kinda..
Long answer: Yep, kinda..
Mojoblog is gonna remain locked down to the last of the legacy joomla core (currently joomla 1.0.15) and most likely remain pseudo-compatible with WordPress 2.1 core.
MojoBlog is an interim release, a segue so to speak between the original jd-wp and the eventual release of jBlog.
It's primary purpose is to get folks shifted over to mojoBlog, give them the ability to import/export older jd-wp content, joomla content and, yes.. even wordpress content into their new mojoBlog installation and, get them blogging to their hearts content.

jBlog for joomla 1.5!

jBlog (not a great name but, it's all I got) is being developed pretty much from the ground up around joomla 1.5 and WordPress 2.2 API's -with- attention to legacy features (e.g.: backwards compatibility) existing in the current mojoBlog releases.
However, jBlog will neither be pure joomla, nor.. pure wordpress. I'd like to say it's gonna be the best of both but, I'm neither that cocky nor that presumptuous. We'll see.
jBlog will be an amalgamation of both, so currently there's no feasible way to simply "press button to upgrade".
During the initial release(s) it -will- require users of jBlog to download updated jBlog versions as joomla and wordpress follow their release milestones.
There's just me (1guy) as the team developer, debugger, tutorial writer, etc.,etc.. so's the going is getting a bit slower than before I released the first beta of mojoBlog but, as soon as my 11 year old perfects that cloning machine he's been building in the attic..
