PURLS gone wild
Following up on my announcement a few weeks back on the pending release of mojoPUB I’m pleased to report… search engine friendly urls are now an option in mojoBlog 0.16
pretty urls are possible
That’s right. Outta the box mojoBlog0.16 now natively supports the ability to display your lovingly crafted, meta-laden post titles in full semantic glory without plugins, hacks or workarounds. Currently we’re testing mojo0.16 in a variety of live environments. Here on joomlify you can see mojo’s pretty URLs using Marko Schmuck’s openSEF component which we’ve got set up to display blog posts using /year/month/day/category/post-permalink. On 1guy we’re using nothing more than stock joomla1.0.13 with default SEF turned on via the configuration settings. I’ll add more links to other sef options *(joomSEF and others) as we set about testing.
Not quite ready for prime time
Though our new purl options are functional there’s still quite a bit of work ahead to bring current mojo modules up to snuff. Hover over the “recent posts” module right of this post and you’ll see they still display stock mojo uris, mojoCalendar’s got the same issues so… we’re back to the drawing board.
mojoBlog 0.16
As mentioned yesterday mojoBlog0.16 full-install will be available starting tomorrow morning. Until we’re able to finish working out patches for current 0.15 users -only- the full version (clean install) of 0.16 will be available.
Stay tuned…

Hi Kevin,
With this fresh 0.16 install release, do I need to copy over some files since I already had my 0.16 working? Was it a fix for the install process or did you update other files?
If you’ve got 0.16 working you’re golden. This release is only for folks looking for a fresh, clean install of the latest mojoBlog. A patch for the upgrade 0.15 to 0.16 is on its way for 0.15 users.
Awesome! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Hello! I the manager of a site freedom-ru.net!
I am engaged in localization of a component mojoBlog
To translate on Russian very inconveniently!
I have born language variables in a separate file components/com_mojo/language/english.php
If it is necessary for you and interesting, communicate with me on email: info@freedom-ru.net
It very much would help with development multi languages of a component mojoBlog
I just started using MojoBlog, and it’s great. Thanks for making it available! I’m a bit confused about how to make PURLS and SEF/SEO work. I have SEO turned on in my config. I’ve tried with OpenSEF active and inactive, I’ve tried it with the SEF mambot active and inactive, and I’ve tried different settings in the MojoBlog Permalinkage. When pretty URLs are being used, they point to pages that don’t exist, or category pages that don’t exist. Could you give me a quick tip as to what settings should be active, what should be inactive, and how to make my URLs pretty? Thanks for your help!
One other quick question. I uninstalled .15, installed .16, but some of my plugins seem to have dissappeard. They still exist in the plugins folder, but they no longer show up in the “plugins” section MojoBlog admin pages (i.e. the feedburner plugin, etc.). Thanks!
Jared,
Did you keep a backup of the plugin folder? If so just upload the entire folder and all should be fine. If not the you’ll have to reinstall the individual plugins again.
