wordpress, jd-wp and joomla importers

Quite a few mojo folk have asked in the forums how to move existing articles and content out of the default joomla blog, how to add older jd-wp posts and comments into mojoblog or, how to shift all posts and content from older wordpress installations over to mojoBlog.

So, due to popular request (and many offers for beers) I’m finishing up on the first three import plugins for mojo.

What these importers will do is pretty much automate the importing of your existing articles, posts, comments and assosiated assets (photos, pictures, avatars, etc.) into your default com_mojo installation.

The initial releases -should not- be used on a live or a production site, just sayin.. I’ve been testing/breaking/fixing the things for the last month (hence my seeming absence from the forums) and, well.. they work for me, mostly.

As I get nearer the release date (hopefully within the next week or so) I’ll post the how-to’s to our tutorial sections and add a note in the forums.

    Hiya

love what you’re doing with this. The backend in particular looks great. Customising it is proving a bit tricky - what about support for the sidebar??

I have found you can move data from the older JD-WP by doing a data export of the wp_ tables with phpMyAdmin and importing that data to the mojoBlog tables. Hope that helps other readers too.

    Keep up the good work.

I really need an importer like the one you are working on. I have to transfer more than 1000 posts from blogger to Joomla and this task seems to be very complicated.
Is your plugin going to be available soon?

    Thanks,
    David

I really need to move all content from a wordpress site into Joomla. I hope this will do it for me. IF so, how long until we might see this available?

  8. Eric responded:

Any idea when you might be ready to release these to beta testers?
